United Way of the Wabash Valley supports a number of evidence-based programs at our local Junior Achievement Wabash Valley.
Where Students Bring the Real World to Life
JA’s Biztown® combines in-class learning with a day-long visit to a simulated town. This popular learning experience allows elementary school students to operate banks, manage restaurants, write checks, and vote for mayor. Students are able to connect the dots between what they learn in school and the real world.

Building Smart Futures Through Real-World Financial Decisions
JA Finance Park® is Junior Achievement’s capstone program for personal financial planning and career exploration. At the culmination of this teacher-led program, middle-school students visit JA Finance Park, a realistic virtual community, to put into practice what they’ve learned by developing and committing to a personal budget.

Building Smart Futures Through Real-World Financial Decisions
JA’s Family Financial Literacy Nights empower families—adults and their children—with essential financial knowledge and skills to make informed decisions, reduce financial stress, and achieve long-term financial stability. These classes are held throughout United Way’s service area of Clay, Parke, Sullivan, Vermillion, Vigo counties in Indiana and Clark County in Illinois.
